Our Story
Several years ago, my two daughters went on a church mission trip to
Jamaica to help at Carribean Christian
Center for the Deaf located outside of Montego Bay. They returned home
very exited about helping the deaf children. After three more trips, the
"Hands in Praise" team came to visit and raise funds for their
school. Our church hosted the team for two weeks. With my wife
coordinating the visit, I became involved with them and felt I wanted to do what
I could to help. The next year when they came I felt that God was calling
me to do something for deaf children.
Although I knew nothing about deafness, I told God, "Here I am!
Use me." This led to a foundation of the plans for what has become
"So They Might Hear". With God's help, I began my journey.
On July 23rd, 2008, we became a non-profit corporation. God has opened
doors and is leading the journey I have taken on.
Mission Statement
Our mission is to follow God's lead to provide funds to those children who
need help gaining or enhancing their hearing. this is to be done to the
glory of Jesus Christ who said, "When you have done it to the least of
these, you have done it also to me." I feel there should be no
barrier to a child receiving the gift of hearing. Not race, creed, color
or anything else.
So They Might Hear, Inc. is a registered 501 (c) (3) charitable organization with the US Internal Revenue Service, and all US donations are tax deductible for US income tax purposes.
This work is impossible without you.
